Achieving Justice and Peace through Equity and Human Development

ABOUT US

WIN-DREAM INTERNATIONAL is a religious non-profit organization organized exclusively for charitable, humanitarian, peace, and educational-support purposes for orphans, indigent children, victims of human rights abuses and families recovering from the ravages of conflicts and humanitarian disasters. As a tax-exempt non-profit, we receive donations from individuals, and fellow tax-exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in support of Win-Dream Mission in Africa.

Since 2013, the impact of protracted conflicts in South Sudan has provoked serious humanitarian situations that left thousands of women, girls and children vulnerable. About 3 million South Sudanese (25% of the population) fled their homes in November 2016. More than 1.87 million people are internally displaced, more than 1.1 million sought refuge in neighboring countries while 4.8 million have been living in abject conditions without food, health care, shelter, good water, security or any vestige of hope for survival. A similar situation has been recurrent in Nigeria with the incessant Boko Haram attacks in the North, as well as political and religious killings across different parts of Southeast Nigeria, the impact of which has exacerbated death tolls, and economic lives for families, causing vulnerabilities for women, children, old and young people. These circumstances compelled Win-Dream International into responsive actions.

In Torit, one noticeable group that occupied the streets in 2016 were hundreds of children displaced, strayed and orphaned in the wave of armed conflicts, most ofwhom were children between the ages of 3 to 15 years. Because of hunger and frustration, they roamed around the streets of Torit like sheep without shepherds. Alarmed by the humanitarian emergency, Win-Dream collaborated with the Missionary Priest of St Paul working in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish Torit to rescue hundreds of the street children. The rescued street children have been under the custody of the Catholic Diocese of Torit to date. The Church has not only provided shelters for these orphans of war, but parental succor, moral upbringing, food, health, and education. Win-Dream International and Dreamlife International have collaborated with the Catholic Church in Torit to support these adopted children of God. We are proud today to share our testimonies on their progress at different levels of education—elementary, secondary and universities. We have equally extended the Win-Dream humanitarian mission in support of orphans, displaced and street children, as well as families affected by insurgencies in Durumi internally displaced peoples’ camps (IDPs), Abuja, Enugu, and Imo State.

WIN-DREAM INTERNATIONAL mission initiatives for feeding, education, economic empowerment, training in vocational skills and financial literacy within our mission communities are in a continuumwith the vision to transform and transition our beneficiaries from all disabilities into greater abilities to WIN DREAMS.
